Future betting tips on the top NFL teams

March 8, 2013 in 360 News

The best tip that you can get on future betting on the top NFL teams is to do your homework, and do it well. Future bets are long term bets on how the NFL teams and individual players will perform over the season, either the regular season or right through the play-offs and onwards to the Superbowl. These long term bets are very difficult to select, and very difficult to value. However, if you are willing to do the work, then you should be able to find some good bets that will make you money.

Another great tip is to avoid making future bets on your favorite team or favorite players. If they are popular players and teams, then it is unlikely that you will find reasonable odds as everyone will be betting on them, and you will be betting with your emotions rather than with your rational mind; a pit into which professional sports betters never fall. What you should do is look for betting opportunities that others have failed to spot, concentrating on the less popular teams that filed to do well last season, but because of things that have happened subsequently are now looking good. Weird as it may seem, but the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to have a “home” game outside of the EverBank field. The Jaguars, selected as the home team by the board, are scheduled to travel four times to London sometime between 2013 and 2016 to play regular season games at the Wembley Stadium against a still unannounced team. One of the teams they will face is the San Francisco 49ers, which will take place on October 27, 2013. This is the first for the Jacksonville squad, which joined the league in 1995. The deal happened after the St. Louis Rams dropped their bid due to concerns over their own stadium’s dwindling quality. The Jaguars, who haven’t won any championship since joining, must do everything to be able to entertain a market that for their devotion to English Premier League. Yes, there is a growing following of the American football in UK but you can’t be sure of anything since the sport is still new to the English audience.

QB, Henne Propels Jacksonville Jaguars to win over the Titans

November 25, 2012 in 360 News, Jaguars Games, Jaguars News

In a must win game against their AFC South Rival, QB Chad Henne justified being selected as the starting QB against the Titans, completing 17 of 26 passes for 261 yards, and two touchdowns in his first start over 13 months. The Titans were continuously putting pressured on the Jaguars and sacked Henne seven times in tonight’s game, but he held on and helped lead his team to their second win of the season.

After suffering a 7-game losing streak, the Jaguars offense stepped up their game again, and snapped the streak to improve their record to 2-9 for the season. The game started out jittery for the Jaguars as Hene’s first throw in the game was intercepted, and he was also sacked seven times. The QB never gave up as he made up for the mistakes to lead his team to a 24-19 victory.

As expected, the key to winning today’s game was a good offense that could play a running game, and a defense that would keep the Titans offense out of the end zone. The Jaguars offense comfortably converted more drives into touchdown than the Titans. Running Bank Rashad Jennings ran for 43 yards and had 16 carries, while Wide Receiver Cecil Shorts was at the receiving end of four passes for a total of 105 yards, and a touchdown. WR Justin Blackmon was also one of the top performers with 5 catches, 62 yards, and one-touchdown.

Not to be left out, the Jaguars defense dug deep as requested by Coach Malarkey and actually held a lead unlike in last week’s loss against the Texans that saw them blow a comfortable lead. The second worst defense in yardage improved their game and held the Titans to just five field goal attempts, 6 of 15 first down attempts, and one touchdown.

The Jaguars (2-9) will be visiting the Ralph Wilson Stadium to play against the Buffalo Bills (4-7) next week Sunday at 1:00pm EST.

Jaguars vs. Titans: Game Preview

November 25, 2012 in Jaguars Game Previews

The Jacksonville Jaguars with one of the worst records in the NFL at 1-9 in the season are coming into today’s game desperate for a win. They will be facing the Tennessee Titans, their AFC South rivals in their first encounter of the season.

Chad Henne will be starting in the QB position due to a season ending injury to 1st choice QB Blaine Gabbert. Coach Mularkey was impressed with Henne’s performance in last Sunday’s loss against the Houston Texans, which saw him throw for 354 yards, completed 16 of 33 passes, and four touchdowns.

If the Jaguars expect anything out of today’s game, both the offense and defense will have to make major improvements and leave everything on the field. Although, the forced the Texans into overtime last week, the Jaguars offense is one of the worst in the league. The defense is also not much better as they have struggled most of the season, most recently in last week’s let-down against the Texans. The defense allowed record 39 first downs and 640 yards, and allowed the Texans to catch up with them from 34-20, and eventually win the game.

If the Jaguars expect to win today’s game, the offense will have to hold their own, and not squander any lead as they have done in previous games this season.

Game Details:
Date: 11/24/2012
Time: 1:00pm EST
Stadium: EverBank Field

Jaguars Can’t Stop Leshoure in 14-31 Defeat

November 5, 2012 in Jaguars Games, Jaguars News

The Jacksonville Jaguars were embarrassed by the Detroit Lions on Sunday in a 14-31 defeat, and are now 1-7. But please don’t let the 14 points trick you either; the Jaguars two touchdowns came in the fourth quarter when the game was already out of hand. The Jaguars managed to prevent the Lions from scoring in the first quarter by forcing a punt and watching Jason Hanson miss a 47 yard field goal. However, the Jaguars did nothing the entire game until the fourth quarter, so they didn’t capitalize on the Lions early struggles.

After two failed attempts to score, the Lions then unleashed Mikel Leshoure on the Jaguars, and he bullied his way into the end zone three times for the Lions. Additionally, the Jaguars had no answer for Matthew Stafford and his group of receivers, allowing them to complete 22 of their 33 pass attempts.

If there is anything positive to take away from the game for the Jaguars, I would say the play of Blaine Gabbert was a positive. Aside from his two late game interceptions, he did complete 27 of his 38 attempts, but he needs help. Maurice Jones-Drew is sourly missed, and whether or not he would have been enough to help the Jaguars win, he at least would have helped made the game watchable.

Jaguars Lose to Packers 15-24

October 29, 2012 in Jaguars Games, Jaguars News

The Jaguars hung in there until the end against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, and we are left wondering how big of a difference would Maurice Jones-Drew have made? The Jacksonville Jaguars were only down 12-14 at halftime, which should have been 13-14 if they didn’t try for an unnecessary two-point conversion which failed.

The Jaguars had no problem moving the ball through the air against the Packers, Blaine Gabbert played very well, he threw for 303 yards with one touchdown and didn’t have any turnovers. The turnover that proved to be the most costly in the game was the blocked punt in the first quarter which the Packers recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.

The Jaguars were able to limit Rodgers to only 186 yards passing, but those yards were efficient yards, two of his 22 completions went for touchdowns, one to Cobb and the other to Driver.

For the Jaguars, their most outstanding player was Cecil Shorts, perhaps trying to make amends for his fumble in overtime in week seven which cost the Jaguars the game, he had eight receptions for 116 yards. However, the teams other wide out and fifth overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, Justin Blackmon played a horrible game. Yes, Blackmon had 67 yards on four receptions, but when the Jaguars were down 15-21, Blaine Gabbert threw the ball his way on two consecutive plays that could have resulted in a decent amount of yards, and more importantly a fresh set of downs. On both plays Blackmon was open and the passes were well thrown, however, Blackmon didn’t seem aware of the targets and both passes fell incomplete because of his inability to locate the balls in the air.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 1-6 and the remainder of this season will be devoted to the young players developing and the everyone else competing for a job in the 2013 season. The Jaguars will host the Detroit Lions next season, and will attempt to spoil their season by sending them home with an upsetting loss that can ruin their season. Maurice Jones-Drew will not be back next week.

Week 8: Jaguars at Packers

October 28, 2012 in Jaguars Game Previews, Jaguars News

The 1-5 Jaguars will be without Maurice Jones-Drew in their week eight match-up against the the 4-3 Green Bay Packers. However, the Jaguars are fortunate to have Blaine Gabbert active for the game, but even more fortunate to know that neither Greg Jennings or Jordy Nelson will be playing for the Packers. With the Packers two primary receivers out, it is only icing on the cake the Jaguars cornerback, Rashean Mathis, is active for the game. The Packers still have majority of the advantages over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Packers haven’t been a dominant force this season, and have shown signs of being human, so the Jaguars do stand a chance.

The keys to the game for the Jaguars will be game management, they can’t allow the Packers to control the ball. In order to do so, the Jaguars will need Rashad Jennings to play well in place of the injured Maurice Jones-Drew, because the Jaguars are going to want their drives to eat as much time off the clock as possible. However, as important as time is, the Jaguars must put points on the board, because that is what the Packers do best. This game could potentially be a blow out, but if it is managed properly and the Jaguars play to the best of their ability, they can shock the crowd at Lambeau Field.

Jacksonville Jaguars Fall to 1-5 After OT Loss to Raiders

October 23, 2012 in Jaguars Games, Jaguars News

The Jacksonville Jaguars gave up a 14-point lead to the Oakland Raiders, then proceeded to fumble away their opportunity to win in overtime and set up the Raiders with a 40-yard field goal attempt. After the Jaguars jumped out to a 14-point second half lead, the Raiders started to put together some drives and they were able to outscore the Jaguars 20-3 from that point.

The Jaguars forced three turnovers in the game, but it would be their only turnover of the game that proved to be the most costly. With QB Blaine Gabbert, and RB Maurice Jones-Drew, both out due to injuries sustained during the game, the Jaguars had to put their hopes into the hands of backup QB, Chad Henne. Henne got sacked on the first play in overtime to set the Jaguars up with a 2nd and 17, but on the second down Henne found Cecil Shorts eight yards down the field. The only problem was that Shorts was stripped and the fumble was recovered by the Raiders with the ball already in field goal position for the strong legged Sebastian Janikowski to hit a 40-yard field goal to end the game.

The Jaguars are now left with a 1-5 record and will have to play the Packers in Lambeau Field next week. The biggest concerns for the Jaguars are at the quarterback and running back positions. Blaine Gabbert was playing very well until he left the game with an injured shoulder, and his status for the Jaguars week eight game against the Packers remains uncertain. However, for Jacksonville’s star running back, Maurice Jones-Drew, who left the game in the first quarter with a foot injury, he has already been ruled out for next week.

Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars at Oakland Raiders

October 21, 2012 in Jaguars Game Previews, Jaguars News

At 4:25pm EST the 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing the 1-4 Oakland Raiders on the west coast in the O.CO Coliseum. The game will be locally broadcast on CBS, and the game should be considered a must with for both teams. With the Jaguars well rested after their bye, hopefully they arrived in Oakland fresh and well prepared, because although the Raiders share the same record as the Jaguars, the Jaguars losses are much more troublesome than those from the Raiders. Last week, while the Jaguars watched the games from their homes, the Raiders came extremely close to upsetting the now 6-0 Atlanta Falcons in their dome. Additionally, the Raiders played a great game against them, the Falcons had no problems running over whatever team stood in their path, but that was the Raiders got in their way and gave them a hard time.

In the Jaguars first five weeks, they have only been able to score an average of 13 points per game, additionally they have the fewest amount of sacks in the NFL, only recording a total of three. In order for Jacksonville to have their best chance to defeat the Oakland Raiders, they will need their defense to step up to the challenge and contain the Raiders potent run game. McFadden hasn’t done much this season, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t dangerous. They must also be alert in the secondary, Palmer has a gun and the Raiders have some receivers with great vertical speed. Finally, the Jaguars will need to get Maurice Jones-Drew running down hill against the Raiders. If they Jaguars can accomplish those three tasks, they should be able to leave Oakland with a victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars: What Happened During the Bye Week

October 15, 2012 in Jaguars Games, Jaguars News

We would like to start this post by congratulating the Jacksonville Jaguars for not getting a loss on Sunday, which sadly is one of the better perks of having a Bye week for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Because there was no game during week six for the Jaguars, we will take time today look into the rest of the AFC South and see how they fared this week, and we will discuss the devastating loss delivered to the Jaguars week seven opponent, the Oakland Raiders.

So, how did the Jaguars division rivals play during week six? We all know about the Titans upset victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers that occurred on Thursday night, and that would also be the only victory from an AFC South team during week six. The Texans and Colts both lost their games pretty badly. The Colts played at 1:00pm EST and were demolished by a motivated New York Jets squad. They didn’t score any touchdowns, and they were unable to stop Shonn Green who just had his way with the Colts when running the ball. For the Texans, they also struggled on the defensive end, but they were victims of Aaron Rodgers and the Packers aerial attack. Rodgers threw six touchdowns and no interceptions, and the Packers were able to limit Foster to only 29 yards on 17 carries. However, that was only the Texans first loss, and it looks like they are running away with the division.

Another game that interested us and the Jacksonville Jaguars was the Raiders vs. Falcons game. The Raiders played a great game and lost by 3-points, which came on a game winning field goal from Matt Bryant. The Raiders were fighting to try and turn their season around, but came up short in the end, and that is a loss that likely devastated and demoralized the Oakland Raiders. The Jacksonville Jaguars will need to exploit that next week by trying to hit some big plays early and potentially running away with the game. But this is the Jaguars we are talking about, it is never that easy and will likely be a close game that will come down to the end. Check back later this week for our in-depth game preview of the Jaguars vs. Raiders game.
