At 4:25pm EST the 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing the 1-4 Oakland Raiders on the west coast in the O.CO Coliseum. The game will be locally broadcast on CBS, and the game should be considered a must with for both teams. With the Jaguars well rested after their bye, hopefully they arrived in Oakland fresh and well prepared, because although the Raiders share the same record as the Jaguars, the Jaguars losses are much more troublesome than those from the Raiders. Last week, while the Jaguars watched the games from their homes, the Raiders came extremely close to upsetting the now 6-0 Atlanta Falcons in their dome. Additionally, the Raiders played a great game against them, the Falcons had no problems running over whatever team stood in their path, but that was the Raiders got in their way and gave them a hard time.
In the Jaguars first five weeks, they have only been able to score an average of 13 points per game, additionally they have the fewest amount of sacks in the NFL, only recording a total of three. In order for Jacksonville to have their best chance to defeat the Oakland Raiders, they will need their defense to step up to the challenge and contain the Raiders potent run game. McFadden hasn’t done much this season, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t dangerous. They must also be alert in the secondary, Palmer has a gun and the Raiders have some receivers with great vertical speed. Finally, the Jaguars will need to get Maurice Jones-Drew running down hill against the Raiders. If they Jaguars can accomplish those three tasks, they should be able to leave Oakland with a victory.
