CBSSports.com recently published an article that ranked the NFL’s 32 teams in terms of estimated travel miles for the upcoming 2015-16 season. With the Jacksonville Jaguars being a staple of the league’s International Series, where games are played in Wembley Stadium in England, the Jaguars found themselves ranked in the 11th spot, which isn’t that bad when you factor in their extra mileage from the trip overseas.
The Jaguars will travel an estimated 19,101 miles this season, 10,537 of which are within the borders of the United States. The 10,537 miles for their eight road games would have them ranking 27th if not for their “home” game in London.
Using Jacksonville Jaguars secondary market ticket information from TiqIQ.com and travel option information from Hipmunk.com, below are a few road trip choices to see the Jaguars play on the road this season, as quarterback Blake Bortles, the first overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, enters the second year of what the team is hoping a very successful career.
9/27/2015 | New England Patriots vs. Jacksonville Jaguars | Gillette Stadium | Average Price: $333.08 | Get-in Price: $136
The Jaguars get a taste of the defending Super Bowl Champions when they play at Gillette Stadium in an early-season game in September. Flights to Boston through Hipmunk cost around $300 for a round trip and will take around two-and-a-half hours for a nonstop flight. It’s better than driving, which would take around 16-18 hours for the 1,100-mile trip.
11/8/2015 | New York Jets vs. Jacksonville Jaguars | MetLife Stadium | Average Price: $192.08 | Get-in Price: $26
The flights to New York City are a touch cheaper, with round trip options starting from $208.20 on Hipmunk. The Jaguars are facing a brand new Jets team that saw changes at the general manager and head coaching positions. The roster has seen a major upheaval as well, including the signings of Brandon Marshall, Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie. The trip from Jacksonville to MetLife is less than 1,000 miles and would take about 14 hours on the road.
12/27/2015 | New Orleans Saints vs. Jacksonville Jaguars | Mercedes-Benz Superdome | Average Price: $173.70 | Get-in Price: $37
This drive is a little more realistic, totaling around eight hours across 550 miles. Currently, Hipmunk has no nonstop flights, and flight times are around four hours. Due to this affair happening in-between Christmas and New Years, flights are a little more pricey, starting at $465 for a round trip trek. At the same time, going up against the high-powered Saints could prove to be one of the more entertaining games on the Jaguars schedule this season.
